Today Ashlee and I celebrate our 4 year anniversary!
I am so amazed at the grace of God in our lives everyday, but realize it just a little more today. Ashlee and I met through a mutual friend while I was home on leave from Iraq in 2006. My friend told me that we were going on a double date in which he was Ashlee’s date, and I was her friend’s. About 15 minutes into the date, I knew that not to be true!
We hit it off, enjoyed our night, and went our separate ways. Without exchanging emails, phone numbers, or even mailing addresses; I went back to Iraq for another 9 months.
Upon returning in September 2007, my first stop was…you guessed it: Ashlee’s work. She ran to me with her arms open, not having spoke for 9 months and hugged me as though we were “meant to be” together.
Six months later, we were married. Seven months after we were married, my wife became born again! And four months later our precious son, Peyton was born.
It certainly has been a wild, exhilarating journey; but I thank God Almighty for His grace upon me, my wife, and my family! My weaknesses are Ashlee’s strengths, so you can imagine how strong of a woman she truly is.
I love her with all my heart, and today, I want to say; Happy Anniversary to my beautiful, amazing better half!
I love you!
